Most jobs start the same way: walk in with the garment and Gregory looks at it on you, right at the counter. If it needs more than a look, he pins it at a fitting, marks the change in chalk, and the same tailor checks his own work again when you come back for it.

The specialty
Custom Tailoring
Custom tailoring is our specialty, in Gregory’s own words, and it starts with measurements taken on you, not off a chart. Cloth is chosen, the piece is cut for your build and posture, and it goes through a fitting before anything is called finished. That is the difference between a garment that fits and one that merely covers: the shoulders sit where your shoulders are, the sleeve stops at your wrist, the waist follows your own line instead of a stock pattern’s average.

The everyday fix
Alterations
Hems on trousers and jeans, taking in or letting out, shortening a sleeve, replacing a zipper, resetting a lining. Customers have written in about a coat with arms fixed to length, a dress with its zipper and lining repaired, and a belt punched with new holes. Every job is pinned on you first, chalked, and checked again when you pick it up. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is needed for most of this work.

Suits and Tuxedos
Business suits and tuxedos for men and women, worked for events, special occasions and everyday business, so they fit like a glove rather than a rental. Fit is judged from the shoulder down: the shoulder seam is the hard part to get right, and once it sits correctly the hems and sleeves are the simple adjustments. Bring the shoes you’ll wear with it, and give Gregory time for a first fitting and a final press before the date.

Dresses and Bridal
Custom bridal, entourage and other formal event dresses, plus evening gowns, are all taken as orders. Hems, bodice take-ins, zippers and linings are handled too, with time left for a second fitting.

Same-Day Tailoring
Same-day and next-day tailoring is offered for most services. Bring the garment in the morning and, most of the time, it’s ready by the end of the day. Custom pieces and bridal work still need more than one fitting.
